Triangle Trust Opens for Rehabilitation of Offenders Development Grants

The Triangle Trust is currently inviting applications for Development Grants from not-for-profit organisations in the UK whose sole purpose is to support the rehabilitation of offenders and ex-offenders.

The Triangle Trust provides funding through its Development Grants programme twice a year to charities, not-for-profit social enterprises and community interest companies in the UK whose primary purpose is to support the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders (autumn round) and unpaid carers (spring round).

The Development Grants provides funds towards core costs to organisations make a step change development towards increasing its long-term sustainability. The Trust would like to see organisations use these grants to develop sustainable income sources, so that when the grant comes to an end their income will not be reduced.

Grants are available for up to £80,000 over three years with a maximum of £35,000 in year one. The amount requested each year is expected to taper down as applicants develop other sustainable income streams.

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Organisations with a broader remit that are running a project to support the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders.
  • Organisations running crime prevention or restorative justice initiatives.
  • Appointment of a Trust or Community Fundraiser.
  • Expanding the coverage of a particular service, unless there is a tangible increase in sustainability as a result.
  • Match funding, unless associated with a sustainability development.
  • Covering the loss of a statutory contract or grant income.
  • General running costs.

This is a highly competitive fund with a success rate last year of 1 in 14 for rehabilitation applicants.

The deadline for applications is 2 November 2017 (12 noon).
